Connect a customer's wallet, use a wallet provider, or manage signing in your backend. A **wallet** is software or a service that manages signing and requests signatures. Your application maintains customer identity and payment records; Tempo records balances and transfers. ## Control account access Choose who approves payments: your backend, the customer, or a service with limited authority. For a payout service or agent, use an [access key](https://tempo.xyz/developers/docs/accounts/access-keys) with a spending limit, expiry, and allowed calls.
