### Can we make existing customer balances private?

Yes. Customers can move funds from Tempo into a Zone using supported wallets. Their balances and activity inside the Zone stay private from the public.

### Who can see my transactions and balances?

Balances and account activity inside a Zone stay private from the public. The business that operates the zone can see all balances and transactions within the Zone.

Transfers at a Zone’s boundary are visible on Tempo. Deposits reveal the sender, token, and amount, but hide the recipient inside the Zone. Withdrawals reveal the recipient, token, and amount, but hide the sender inside the Zone.

### Can customers earn on private balances?

Yes. Customers can access Tempo Earn from a Zone. Their accounts inside the Zone stay private, but actions on public Tempo remain visible. The identity of the account inside the Zone is hidden from the public.

### Do we need to operate our own Zone?

You can run your own Zone or use one hosted by Tempo. In a hosted Zone, both your business and Tempo can see balances and activity. Your customers see their own accounts, and authorized teams can access records for support, reporting, and compliance.
