Kraken is the first U.S. centralized exchange to support Tempo, giving fintechs, neobanks, payment companies, and stablecoin issuers building on Tempo access to liquidity, custody, on/off-ramps, execution, and listings support in one unified stack.

Institutional infrastructure for stablecoin payments

Companies building stablecoin payment products need more than a chain. They need reliable ways to move between fiat and stablecoins, source liquidity, custody reserves, and support treasury operations.

Those functions are often split across multiple vendors: one for OTC liquidity, another for custody, another for on/off-ramps, another for compliance. Each relationship adds diligence, integration work, and coordination overhead.

Kraken gives teams building on Tempo a single centralized exchange partner for all of it.

What the partnership enables

USDT0 and USDC.e deposits and withdrawals are live on Kraken via Tempo, with native chain support. For teams building wallets, payment products, remittance flows, or stablecoin issuance products, that’s a direct bridge between Tempo-based assets and one of the largest global crypto platforms.

The institutional stack covers five areas:

  • Liquidity and OTC. Kraken provides spot and OTC liquidity across stablecoins, fiat pairs, and major digital assets, supporting settlement, treasury balancing, and high-volume conversion.
  • On/off-ramps. Teams can access fiat and stablecoin movement through Kraken’s APIs and embedded services from Payward Services. That matters for products built around cross-border payments, payouts, and remittance.
  • Qualified custody. Kraken Financial, a Wyoming SPDI, provides qualified custody for stablecoin reserves, operating treasuries, and protocol assets.
  • Listings support. Tokens and stablecoins launching natively on Tempo get an introduction to Kraken’s listings team, creating a clearer path from launch to distribution.
  • Compliance operations. Kraken’s institutional stack includes KYB, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening, reducing the compliance infrastructure each team needs to build from scratch.

Why this matters for builders

Fast settlement and low fees solve part of the payment problem. But shipping a real payment product also means sourcing liquidity, accessing fiat rails, managing custody, and handling compliance. Those requirements get harder to ignore as volume grows.

Working with Kraken means Tempo builders can get to market without stitching together separate vendor relationships for each of those needs.
