Credit on Tempo
Credit on Tempo connects businesses with a broader market of lenders to fund their operations and the loans they offer customers. Draws and repayments settle in stablecoins in under a second, 24/7, so you borrow when you need funds and repay as soon as cash arrives. Facilities can be structured with no minimum borrowing, so you only pay interest on what you draw. If you’re a business looking for credit or a lender looking to fund it, get in touch.
Flexible credit is a recurring theme in our conversations with businesses. They’re paying interest on minimum balances they don’t use, locked into fixed draw and repayment schedules, or unable to find a lender for their use case. Tempo provides the infrastructure to match them with lenders and structure credit around how much they need to borrow and for how long.
Why Tempo
Why credit on Tempo works for enterprises:
-
Only pay interest on what you borrow. Facilities can have no minimum draws or fees on unused capacity, so you pay interest only on what you draw.
-
Flexible draws and repayments. Draw, repay and draw again, with stablecoin transfers that settle in under a second, 24/7.
-
Access broader capital markets. Work with lenders beyond your current bank or credit fund to rely less on one lender and get more options on price.
We’re working with marketplaces, fintechs, trade finance providers, merchant acquirers and payment service providers on four credit use cases:
| Prefunding | Send payouts before incoming funds arrive |
| Receivables financing | Borrow against card settlements or invoices |
| Working capital loans | Fund the loans you offer to your customers |
| Consumer credit | Offer loans to your users through a licensed lending partner |
“Any company that moves money needs credit at some point, to cover payouts before funds land, unlock cash tied up in receivables, or fund the loans it offers its own customers. We’re building the capital market for commerce on Tempo, along with design partners that range from leading marketplaces to global trade finance providers.”
El Dorado and Tala: broadening access to consumer credit in Latin America
El Dorado is bringing consumer credit to people who don’t have the credit history banks require. Starting in Bolivia, eligible customers can receive and repay stablecoin loans in the El Dorado app on Tempo, without collateral. Lending partner Tala handles underwriting, capital and credit risk. El Dorado aims to further expand access across Latin America.
“Millions of people in Latin America can’t access credit because they lack the documentation, credit history or collateral banks require. We’re bringing Tala’s loans into El Dorado, starting in Bolivia, with funds paid out and repaid in stablecoins on Tempo.”
